About The Position

This role involves managing the production and manufacturing of custom, limited, and collectible book editions within a collaborative and creative environment. The candidate will oversee approximately 50 custom edition titles annually, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule while fostering innovation in product development.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of book and novelty production experience.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent knowledge of all facets of production and manufacturing in publishing.
• Creative thinker and problem-solver who can adapt to changes and delays.
• Extensive knowledge of different formats and product types.
• Comfortable using digital and web technologies.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Google Workspace platform.
• Experience with Biblio.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and brainstorm with the Sales team to develop new formats and product ideas.
• Scout new production trends and printing developments and share with the Sales Team.
• Communicate with editors, designers, production editors, managing editors, and vendors regarding schedules and budget issues.
• Request and analyze cost quotes from vendors, preparing preliminary and final cost estimates.
• Issue production schedules for overseas and domestic titles, monitoring adherence to budget.
• Work with vendors for R&D and mock-ups for new product types.
• Research and chase ideas on new print techniques and unique materials.
• Issue purchase orders for compositions, separations, and manufacturing components.
• Review and color correct production materials among various departments and vendors.
• Review and approve invoices.
