We are seeking a Senior Production Engineer who will support the government project office in all phases of the acquisition life cycle. You will support the development and review of missile electronics, training devices and test set planning, manufacturing and test. You will be responsible for reviewing defense system production planning and you will report your findings in an independent work environment. You will be operating in a fast-paced environment and engaging with various levels of stakeholders to ensure the production process is capable of meeting program requirements. This will include Failure Review Boards, Request for Deviations (RFD), Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), and First Article Inspections (FAI). You will provide subject matter expertise and recommendations to leadership for technical evaluations of proposals, fact-finding, subcontractor status, production ramp rate evaluations, associated risk management and cost reduction initiatives. On a typical day, you can expect to lead and participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPT) with government, military and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) teammates; support testing and training events; analyze production proposals from the OEMs and respond to questions from government stakeholders. You will be briefing and providing recommendations to the government project office and the OEM manufacturing and engineering staff. This will include providing subject matter expertise on proposal evaluations, fact finding, subcontractor status, ramp rate evaluations, cost and risk management initiatives.

Requirements

  • ABET accredited degree
  • 16 years' experience in defense production engineering or related field
  • Some travel (~25%)
  • Must have an in-scope DoD Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with missile electronics, training devices and test sets.
  • Experience with proposal evaluation (technical evaluations)
  • Experience with Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs)
