Senior Production Control Coordinator

About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Production Control Coordinator oversees the end-to-end flow of materials, production schedules, and inventory to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. They manage complex scheduling, resolve supply chain bottlenecks, analyze material availability, and provide strategic leadership to optimize workflows and inventory accuracy. RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Collaborate with manufacturing supervisors and Production Planning to understand the build plan, production priorities, and daily resource needs. Develop, maintain, and update production schedules using ERP systems and project management tools, ensuring deadlines are met. Track component availability, and coordinate with purchasing or stockroom to prevent shortages. Oversee inventory levels, ensure accurate records, and manage the flow of materials from receiving to final product shipment. Analyze production metrics and identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance yield performance. Act as a central point of contact for solving production delays, material shortages, and equipment failures.Clearly communicate the issue to Operations leadership & Create quality assurance checkpoints, ensure compliance with safety standards, manage engineering change orders, and deviations. Guide junior staff on scheduling, inventory transactions, and system troubleshooting. Coordinate the initiation and scheduling of MES work orders, ensuring availability and readiness for production teams at the start of each shift. Manage work order label printing and work closely with Quality to ensure labels are correctly inspected, approved, and released. Support production staff with MES-related tasks including work order initiation, PDA tracking, and troubleshooting. Partner closely with Production Planning leadership and the inventory control team to improve and standardize inventory management processes. Assist with identifying, tracking, and resolving material shortages—including components and consumables—coordinating with Procurement, the Stockroom, and Production Planning as needed. Work directly with Quality to ensure labeling, documentation, and MES steps meet compliance and production requirements. Support manufacturing group leads with coordinating team scheduling, resource assignment, and build sequencing aligned with the production plan and MES availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field or experience.
  • 5 years in production scheduling, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in production control, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities across multiple teams.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Prior experience supporting Production Planning, scheduling, or materials management.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (medical devices, pharma, etc.)
