Caterpillar’s EMSM (Earthmoving Supply Management) division is hiring for Senior Product Procurement Engineer - Strategy and Governance lead in Peoria, IL! In this role as Strategy and Governance lead within EMSM team, you will be responsible for driving EMSM’s strategic initiatives related to business performance, competitiveness, and long‑term value creation. This role partners closely with senior leaders, cross‑functional teams, and global stakeholders to translate enterprise and functional strategies into actionable plans and measurable outcomes. Responsible to manage scorecards and Power BI dashboards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment across teams and regions.

Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.
Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
Experience in strategy, procurement, and supply chain.
Experience leading cross‑functional teams in global organizations with multiple stakeholders.
Hands‑on experience with Power BI, including published reports and enterprise datasets.
Experience developing and supporting enterprise scorecards, governance dashboards, and KPI frameworks.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with structured problem‑solving, portfolio management, and performance management frameworks.
Manufacturing, industrial, or global enterprise environment experience strongly preferred.
Ability to balance long‑term strategy with short‑term execution needs including speed of delivery with data accuracy and sustainability.
Knowledge of defining or supporting AI, analytics, or advanced decision‑support solutions within supply or procurement contexts
Experience with SQL, Excel, and data transformation tools; Snowflake or similar platforms

Responsibilities

Develop and refine business and functional strategies aligned with enterprise objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
Lead strategic initiatives from concept through execution, including opportunity identification, business case development, and performance tracking.
Work with cross‑functional leaders (e.g., Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) to align strategy with execution.
Drive change management, ensuring strategies are effectively understood, adopted, and sustained across the organization.
Identify and prioritize digital opportunities across platforms, processes, data, and customer experiences.
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor functional KPIs, ensuring clear definitions, ownership, and standard calculation logic.
Establish and maintain metrics governance frameworks, including data standards, refresh cadence, and escalation rules.
