About The Position

We are open to supporting 100% remote work anywhere within the US ICF is looking for a Senior Product Owner who is eager to use their skills to effectively support a large federal client. We are seeking confident, self-motivated individuals to conduct this valuable work in a fully remote capacity within the USA. This position is open to senior to principal professional depending on experience. You will play a pivotal role on a high performing Agile software development team, driving the vision of the product through the program backlog and into product backlogs. You will own the program and product roadmaps, as well as the high-level features and epics on the program and product backlogs. You will interact with individuals from many disciplines across the team, including subject matter experts, business analysts, architects, and technical leads. You will also be a key touch point in our human-centered design approach, working closely with user researchers and user experience designers to ensure the product vision is appropriately captured.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience with at least 6+ years as a Product Owner, working with software development teams and understanding the product lifecycle building modern and highly complex software products.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card holder is required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust
  • MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.), as this work is for a federal contract and laws do apply.
  • Clear and concise written communication
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable user stories.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and refine customer needs and program strategy.
  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the client goals and priorities.
  • Own and refine the vision of the program and products.
  • Create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring that the most valuable features are delivered to users.
  • Write clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development efforts.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, understand needs, and ensure alignment across various initiatives.
  • Effectively break down the program vision into features and epics.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and inform future development efforts.
  • Derive an Agile program roadmap from the program backlog.
  • Define minimum viable products and establish success criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with a wide range of individuals on the Agile team.
  • Communicate vision, strategy, roadmaps, and backlogs to key stakeholders.
  • Perform an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
