Welcome to Product Management at DICK’S Sporting Goods, where we specialize in delivering retail excellence along every aspect of our athlete and teammate journey. Our mission focuses on crafting an intuitive, easy-to-use digital platform that empowers our store teammates to excel in meeting the needs of our athletes in stores. The product spans across our business and will help us transform our store teammate app experience. This isn't just a product role - it's an opportunity to transform the digital experience that connects our store teammate and build the enterprise foundation that will power how our store teammates at DICK’s are set up for success to delight 50M+ athletes. In this role, as a Senior Product Manager, you'll own the strategy and execution of the Store Teammate App products that serve as the foundation for our teammate experience. As DICK'S transforms into a data-driven athlete experience company, you'll be the strategic leader who translates complex store operations business problems into value-added outcomes enabling enhanced brand compliance, communications, engagement, and productivity in stores. The Senior Product Manager focuses primarily on execution while shaping and influencing product management practices across their product team and supporting business unit. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, data-driven decision making, and hands-on delivery. Senior Product Managers are expected to operate independently, lead complex initiatives, and serve as active coaches and mentors for other product managers and cross-functional partners. While this role has no direct reports, it plays a key leadership role in setting ways of working, aligning stakeholders, and driving measurable business outcomes. This level is ideal for experienced product managers who are thinking about deepening their individual contributor craft (toward Principal Product Manager) or exploring a future move into product people management (toward Group Product Manager).

Requirements

  • Proven experience in product management, including significant time owning and delivering end-to-end product initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to discover opportunities, prioritize work, and measure impact.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, design, operations, marketing) without direct authority.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills; able to clearly articulate product strategy, decisions, and trade-offs.
  • Experience building roadmaps, writing user stories, and leading agile/scrum or other iterative planning processes.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mentoring or coaching other product managers.
  • Experience working in Operations, eCommerce, SaaS, Retail, would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with experiment design, A/B testing, and/or hypothesis-driven product development.
  • Comfort working with product management and analytics tools and dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Identify Opportunities Use quantitative and qualitative data to discover and validate customer pain points. Identify and frame the right problems to solve for customers and the business. Prioritize problems to address based on potential business impact, customer value, and strategic alignment. Identify patterns in customer and product data; develop expanded research models in partnership with Product Design and other stakeholders. Contribute to and influence the long-term product vision.
  • Deliver Products & Features Own execution for key product areas, from problem definition through launch and iteration. Identify and mitigate cross-team and stakeholder dependencies that may impact releases or shipping. Collaboratively build user story maps, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria. Identify, communicate, and manage risks associated with shipping features and releases. Build and maintain release plans (who, what, when), including feature prioritization and scope decisions. Lead sprint or iterative planning meetings, ensuring the team understands priorities, scope, and desired outcomes.
  • Form & Track KPIs / Metrics Gather data and conduct research to understand product trends, customer behavior, and performance. Define and track metrics to measure adoption, usage, and business impact of product launches. Build product objectives and goals in collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g., design, engineering, operations, commercial). Drive accountability by facilitating data-driven reviews and ROI discussions. Use goal frameworks and tools to set clear metrics, outcomes, and success criteria for product work.
  • Enlist & Enable Stakeholders Use evidence-based influencing skills to bring stakeholders along on product decisions. Conduct stakeholder identification workshops and maintain clear stakeholder maps for your products. Create and communicate standard stakeholder touchpoints (e.g., business reviews, roadmap sessions, launch updates). Facilitate stakeholder input sessions at all levels to gather feedback and pressure-test directions. Translate stakeholder insights into inputs for product prioritization, strategy, and vision.
  • Form Strategy & Prioritize Work Build and maintain outcome-based roadmaps in close partnership with cross-functional teams. Use decision support tools and frameworks to weigh competing objectives, constraints, and opportunities. Clearly explain the rationale (“the why”) behind product priorities, trade-offs, and roadmap decisions. Communicate product strategy and roadmap to internal teams and stakeholders in a way that drives clarity and alignment. Help define product strategy in support of the broader product and company vision.
  • Leadership & Mentorship Demonstrate organizational agility and influence without formal authority across teams and levels. Help create a people-first culture where cross-functional teammates can do their best work. Coach and mentor other product managers and team members, providing feedback on product craft and execution. Contribute to performance and capability development within the product management practice (skills, tools, frameworks). Model best practices in collaboration, communication, and decision-making.
