Senior Product Manager, Platform & Infrastructure

SkydioSan Mateo, CA

About The Position

We deliver life-saving information as fast as possible to our customers. They need to securely engage with our cloud every minute of every day, and our North Star is that stronger security, broader compliance, and more flexible deployment models must never slow or fracture that experience. Our vision is to give customers the flexibility and security they require — multi-cloud, multi-region, and government-grade compliance — without any tradeoffs in speed, reliability, or ease of use. We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to own and execute the Cloud Platform & Infrastructure roadmap, delivering the multi-cloud, multi-region and government-compliant platform capabilities Skydio needs to scale globally for federal, state & local, and commercial customers. You will also own Skydio’s on-prem product line—productizing air-gapped and self-hosted deployments into a scalable, secure, and high-impact solution. This senior individual-contributor role is about turning field and sales pain into a tightly scoped, customer-centric roadmap and driving the cross-functional programs that bring it to market. You’ll work closely with SRE, cloud engineering, security & compliance, legal, GTM, and executive leadership to build the platform foundations that unlock growth — all while protecting the fast, simple, frictionless experience our customers depend on.

Requirements

  • 2+ years product experience shipping cloud platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products; 1+ years in senior/lead product roles delivering large, cross-functional technical programs.
  • Demonstrated track record of turning customer pain into a prioritized roadmap and driving cross-functional programs to completion.
  • Deep federal/regulatory domain knowledge or field experience working with federal/defense/regulatory customers (FedRAMP, CJIS, DoD RMF, or similar). You can translate regulatory controls into product requirements and run the organizational work streams to meet them.
  • Track record of shipping platform features that materially improved reliability, scalability, security, and/or cost. Comfortable making tradeoffs and driving decisions with incomplete data.
  • Strong program management and stakeholder influence skills — you can align engineering, security, legal, sales, and customers toward common goals without formal authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience briefing executives and external auditors.
  • This role will be driving the development of products for our military customers, and is subject to a government contract that requires Skydio to limit this position to candidates with US Citizenship.
  • We welcome every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States to apply. However, at this time, Skydio does not currently offer employment-based visa or permanent residency sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Customer & sales engagement: Run discovery with government and commercial customers: Surface the “why”, build business case for investment, validate proposed solutions in the field, and help grow the business by providing platform capabilities with clearly communicated delivery expectations.
  • Own the platform roadmap for Cloud Platform & Infrastructure: work with sales, customer success, deployment engineers, and customers to convert recurring pain and opportunities into a prioritized, outcome-focused platform roadmap with clear user stories and success criteria.
  • Productize and deliver Skydio On-Prem: define the roadmap for air-gapped and self-hosted offerings; lead cross-functional delivery (engineering, SRE, security, legal, GTM); own releases, onboarding/runbooks and launch artifacts; run pilots/rollouts to cut time-to-deploy and manual effort while preserving a secure, frictionless experience; and support exponential growth in the national security dock business.
  • Drive compliance and certification programs (FedRAMP, CJIS, and other regulatory frameworks): translate compliance requirements into product, engineering, and operational requirements; run cross-functional programs to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) and other certifications.
  • Release & expectation management: Coordinate release planning, cut-downs and “what’s in/what’s out” decisions, and communicate release tradeoffs to internal teams and customers. Ensure customer feedback and bug reports are tracked and routed into the right engineering backlog.
  • Compliance enablement: Translate FedRAMP/CJIS/other regulatory requirements into product and operational requirements; run cross-functional compliance programs and vendor/auditor interactions to achieve certification readiness. You will coordinate auditors, security, legal and engineering — not act as the security architect.
  • Evangelize & enable: Explain platform capabilities across the org, create internal playbooks/artifacts, and help GTM teams present platform value to customers.
