About The Position

Wealthsimple is on a mission to help everyone achieve financial freedom by reimagining what it means to manage your money. Using smart technology, we take financial services that are often confusing, opaque and expensive and make them transparent and low-cost for everyone. We’re the largest fintech company in Canada, with over 4 million users who trust us with more than $80 billion in assets. Our teams ship often and make an impact with groundbreaking ideas. We're looking for talented people who keep it simple and value collaboration and humility as we continue to create inclusive and high-performing teams where people can be inspired to do their best work. The Payment Cards team is one of our newest and most exciting teams, responsible for building a card portfolio the Wealthsimple way—simple, transparent, and low-cost. We are rethinking payment cards from the ground up to help Canadians manage their spending better, and get rewarded for doing so. We aim to deliver a highly rewarding experience that avoids the typical traps of traditional credit and spending products, integrating seamlessly into our entire product ecosystem, and fostering deeper relationships with our clients in the process.

  • Curiosity and a first-principles approach. You dig deep into any problem, ask 'why' relentlessly, and can turn complex problems into simple, elegant experiences
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to pull your own data, develop business cases, and synthesize inputs to inform prioritization decisions
  • Enough technical know-how to talk with engineers about architecture and technical considerations that impact the product, weighing tradeoffs at all times
