Chainguard
1d$205,000 - $231,000Remote

About The Position

As Chainguard expands to support multiple product lines, we’re hiring a Product Manager for Chainguard Libraries who will help own and shape our fastest-growing product. This is a high-impact role with broad ownership and real influence over product strategy, execution, and long-term direction. Chainguard Libraries provides secure, curated language libraries that customers rely on to reduce supply chain risk before code reaches production. In this role, you’ll define and drive the strategy for an infrastructure-centric, developer-facing product used across ecosystems such as Python, Java, and JavaScript. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Design, Security, and Go-to-Market partners to build a product that balances developer experience, security guarantees, and enterprise requirements, all while scaling with our growing customer base.

Requirements

  • Deep familiarity with modern Java, JavaScript, or Python build tooling and ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated experience building developer tools, platforms, or automation pipelines, particularly for language ecosystems or package management.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, and technical constraints.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Set, own, and accelerate the Libraries product strategy and roadmap: Translate user needs across Security, Platform, and Developer personas into a clear product vision and prioritized roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Drive product definition from concept through delivery, ensuring Libraries remain scalable, reliable, and differentiated.
  • Improve developer experience by leading initiatives to simplify and improve critical user journeys, reducing friction and making secure library consumption intuitive and efficient.
  • Partner deeply with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, UX Design & Research, and GTM teams to deliver cohesive solutions that balance usability, compliance, and technical rigor.
  • Be the voice of the customer and market by engaging directly with customers, analyze usage data and telemetry, and track industry trends to inform decisions and anticipate evolving needs.
  • Drive execution and delivery. Define requirements, manage backlogs, and prioritize work to ensure timely delivery of meaningful improvements across the Libraries product.

Benefits

  • Flexible & Remote-First Culture: Work remotely with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone and internet costs.
  • Our Approach to Equity: Receive stock options upon hire and promotion. Plus, you can participate in secondary offerings and have 10 years to exercise your options (yes, you read that correctly: 10 years!).
  • 100% Covered Health Insurance: We cover 100% of your health, vision and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents. Nothing comes out of your paycheck.
  • ∞ Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need – to do our best work, we need to recharge and reset.
  • 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We offer 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child's first year.
