We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer - Electrical, with expertise in Electrical Engineering / Power Conversion systems, to lead the transformation of a low-volume, manually assembled Packaged Energy Server (PES) to a semi-automated or fully automated build, ready to scale with the world's increasing power demands. This role will report to the Director, Mfg Engineering and is based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field required. Master's degree a plus.
  • 2 - 5 years' experience working in a Manufacturing or Industrial Environment.
  • Experience with DFM, Design of Experiments (DOE), Product Lifecycle (PLC) Development
  • Proven proficiency with CAD, Programming, Data Analysis and Visualization Software. (e.g. Solidworks, Labview, JMP, Minitab, MS Office Suite, etc.).
  • Experience working with power conversion equipment to include Inverters, Rectifiers, Converters, etc.
  • Understanding of communication protocols to include CAN Bus, Mod Bus, etc.
  • Experience developing electrical test fixtures in a lab and or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with the Power Generation market.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for the electrical interfaces and design for manufacturing (DFM) of the Bloom Energy PES. Drive the deployment of scalable, cost-effective, and reliable electrical DFM solutions.
  • Interface with Product Development (Electrical), Compliance, Quality, Testing and other organizations to execute PES initiatives that are aligned with business goals.
  • Influence and support the full lifecycle of the product from Design Review through Commissioning and Handover.
  • Engineer and develop creative solutions to meet current and future customer needs. Prepare all the documentation needed for a smooth and efficient roll-out of the manufacturing solution.
  • Be an agent for continuous improvement, as a key member of the product change control process.
  • Use electrical engineering expertise to identify and evaluate product designs for product reliability and serviceability at the point of use.
  • Champion the collection, analysis and review of key data/metrics to aid in the development of future product design(s).
