About The Position

As a Senior Product Designer, you'll own the Financial Services branch of our product, initially focusing on Cash Out—our earned wage access product that helps hourly workers get paid when they need it. Cash Out is one of Homebase's highest-impact products: it sits at the intersection of financial services, trust, and the deeply personal moment when someone needs access to their hard-earned money. This role demands exceptional craft. Financial products live or die by the details—the micro-interactions that build confidence, the clarity that reduces anxiety, the polish that signals "your money is safe here." You’ll design experiences that meet the bar users now expect from best-in-class consumer fintech—clarity, speed, and confidence when money is involved. Our users deserve that same level of care and sophistication, and you'll be the one to deliver it. You'll own the full Financial Services experience across iOS, Android, and web—from onboarding and card management to advances and fund movement. Every screen, every state, every edge case. This is a product design role with real ownership, not a feature factory. These are the key ways you’ll contribute and create impact in this role:

Requirements

  • Exceptional UI craft: Your portfolio demonstrates obsessive attention to visual design, interaction design, and polish. You design interfaces that feel considered down to the pixel—not just wireframes handed off to someone else to make pretty.
  • 6+ years in product design with meaningful experience in fintech, payments, banking, or other trust-critical consumer products. You understand the unique UX challenges of designing for money.
  • Recent native mobile experience: Within the last 3 years, you've shipped native iOS and Android experiences. You know platform conventions deeply enough to break them intentionally—not accidentally.
  • End-to-end flow design: You've designed multi-step onboarding, verification, or transactional flows. You know how to handle error states, edge cases, and the unglamorous work that makes products feel solid.
  • Data-informed instincts: You're comfortable partnering with data science, reading funnel metrics, and designing experiments. You use data to sharpen your intuition, not replace it.
  • AI fluency: You use AI tools to accelerate your own work and have informed opinions and usage examples about when AI-powered features genuinely help users.

Responsibilities

  • Raise the bar on craft: Design polished, production-ready UI that feels premium across every platform. Sweat the details—transitions, loading states, empty states, error handling—because in financial products, every rough edge erodes trust.
  • Own the full product surface: From enrollment flows and identity verification to virtual and physical card experiences, advance requests, and transaction history. You'll shape how users understand their money, their limits, and when funds arrive.
  • Design for trust at every step: Financial products require a different kind of UX rigor. You'll balance security requirements with user confidence, creating flows that feel safe without feeling surveilled—and clear without being patronizing.
  • Ship cross-platform and cross-provider excellence: Cash Out must feel native and delightful on iOS, Android, and web. You'll design platform-appropriate experiences that maintain a cohesive identity while respecting each platform's conventions. You will also work with third-party providers to ensure they are delivering the data needed for the best possible user experience.
  • Drive decisions with experimentation: Partner with data science and product to design and analyze A/B tests. You'll use quantitative insights to validate design choices—not just ship and hope.
  • Translate complexity into clarity: Risk models, banking regulations, payment timelines—invisible systems shape what users can do. You'll make these constraints legible, helping people understand eligibility and fund movement without overwhelming them.
