About The Position

ABC News Live is seeking a Senior Producer who is highly creative and experienced in producing shows from planning to on-air execution. This role is pivotal in storytelling and aims to lead the charge in streaming news, requiring a strong understanding of the fast-paced news environment.

Requirements

• Robust line producing skills are a must.
• Extensive control room experience is required.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in broadcast, cable, major local news market, or streaming news.
• Knowledge of iNews or similar producing software is required.
• Bachelor's degree in TV/Film/Journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the rundown, ensuring all parts of the show come together seamlessly.
• Write key parts of shows while serving as the final copy editor on scripts to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with production staff for clean on-air execution.
• Adapt quickly to breaking news by being willing to modify the rundown as necessary.
• Work with on-air talent from a producing and writing perspective in the control room.
• Maintain a strong understanding and appreciation for the 24/7 rhythm of news.
• Oversee editorial staff during extended hours of on-air coverage.
• Proactively identify and address problems quickly, creating informed solutions independently.
• Form and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders within and outside ABC News.
