About The Position

Bell is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer-Process to support gear manufacturing operations at our Drive Systems Center located in Grand Prairie, Texas. This position will report onsite. We are looking for inquisitive and driven people with a passion to innovate. From tiltrotor technology to tail sitting vehicles, our engineers work across a wide portfolio of aircraft programs. As a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer at Bell, you can expect to contribute to the successful completion of projects that support the gear manufacturing value stream. They utilize manufacturing technical principles, theories, and concepts to apply manufacturing technology on existing designs, concepts, processes, systems and tools. They will evaluate and improve current manufacturing processes with a focus on improving production rates, efficiencies, while reducing costs and defects. Assist in researching and purchasing new manufacturing technology, and support the implementation of this equipment/processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with preference in Mechanical, Engineering Technology or Aerospace Engineering is required.
  • 5 years in aerospace or related gear manufacturing industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and ability to articulate technical data and concepts to a wide audience of individuals of different technical backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a variety of activities and tasks while dealing with change.
  • Exhibits a disciplined approach in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing tasks to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria.
  • Proficiency with basic office computer software, specifically the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative solutions for complex problems that arise throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify root cause for manufacturing defects and develop robust corrective actions.
  • Participate in a cross functional team environment completing a variety of objectives depending on the program lifecycle assigned.
  • Able to develop scope of work, resource estimates, progress metrics, and communication cadence for overall project management to meet objectives.
  • Improve process capability and reduce operation cycle time while maintaining and improving quality standards.
