Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering, manufacturing, quality or closely related industrial environment or a Master's degree and minimum 3 years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, quality or closely related industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities.
  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings and industry specifications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Six Sigma project leadership/management/coaching experience.
  • CORE/6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement skills: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.
  • Experience with Minitab and other statistical software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to manufacturing operations and drive process improvement to improve the company’s quality and delivery signature utilizing quality metrics.
  • Be responsible for specific special processes across the value stream, including CBN Coating, Waterjet, and Extrude Hone.
  • Provide direct support to the manufacturing shop floor and drive multiple manufacturing process improvements across specific process steps.
  • Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs/escapes and reduce overall product costs.
  • Perform Root cause analysis and corrective actions on non-conforming product for responsible processes using statistical analysis tools.
  • Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through MRL tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow Diagram.
  • Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to business objectives.
  • Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance.
