Your Opportunity An opportunity exists in Stantec's Water/Wastewater Sector for a highly motivated Engineering Project Leader/Subject Matter Expert with biosolids/wastewater treatment design, as well as construction experience. Your Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will use their management and technical abilities to complete the process design of wastewater projects and lead a team of design professionals and technicians to deliver projects involving the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Your primary focus areas are: Positioning and Pursuit – Engage directly in identifying, pursuing, and winning strategic biosolids pursuits in the region (10-40% of time) Strategy – Identify market trends and drivers for the Biosolids Sector in the region, and help the Sector Leader and Regional Growth Leader develop and execute business plans in the region, including connecting our Biosolids practitioners across the region (10-20% of time) Technical Delivery and Practice – Lead technical approach development and delivery for sector projects and manage a community of sector practitioners in the region (50-70% of time) Day-to-day tasks include: Manage a team of design professionals and technicians and/or construction quality assurance staff providing construction quality assurance observation and reporting services Management and/or technical leadership of water and wastewater infrastructure projects Interact with clients and internal leadership regarding status of project scope, schedule, and budget Apply and share experience/knowledge of treatment, wastewater collection, and water system conveyance and facility design Lead and manage preparation of engineering reports and construction documents including design drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates Research and understand issues related to wastewater and water resources that impact individual projects Ensure that project’s requirements are met in a timely and effective manner Provide project oversight, coordination, and problem solving and coordinate with staff to provide Engineering Services During Construction for multiple projects under construction concurrently. Be an active member in a local civil, environmental, or water related public works professional organization to promote and represent the firm.
