About The Position

The Process Engineer Senior - GUS leads the development and execution of complex operational processes that support the U.S. fulfillment goals. The role manages a high-performing team of process engineers, setting clear goals, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative environment. The position oversees large-scale improvement projects and leverages data analysis, modeling, and industry insights to drive innovation and operational excellence. The role also ensures all initiatives meet compliance standards while delivering measurable improvements in service, cost, and team performance. This is a hybrid role located in Minooka, IL or Bordentown, NJ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Industrial Engineering Preferred, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering or equivalent STEM field. Required
  • 3+ years Process engineering, managing projects & leading process improvements is required.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Proficiency in project management.
  • Proficiency in Visio, Smartsheet, & MS Office Suite.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience crafting and studying processes and layouts at industrial facilities is helpful.
  • CAD, SQL, or Python, preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design and development of complex operational processes aligned with Grainger's U.S. fulfillment strategy.
  • Conducts advanced modeling, simulation, and data analysis to identify constraints and optimize performance.
  • Works with a team of process engineers, providing technical guidance and career mentorship.
  • Sets goals, conducts performance reviews, and fosters professional growth within the engineering team.
  • Oversees large-scale process improvement projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timely delivery.
  • Coordinates cross-functional teams and manages project plans, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all initiatives.
