About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Catalyst team in McIntyre, GA. Come create chemistry with us! BASF’s Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services. We are searching for a professional like you who will plan, manage and execute complex projects at lab and plant scales. Conduct and participate in all phases of plant trial execution including planning, setup, execution, data generation, and data analysis. Lead the development of new products/processes and provide technical support to the existing product lines including troubleshooting and process optimization. Increase knowledge and understanding of products, testing methods, applications, and installation techniques. Lead the development of new products and processes during trials at the three EVR manufacturing sites. The person in this role will travel approximately 10-15% between the three EVR sites in McIntyre, GA, Savannah, GA, and Attapulgus, GA. As a Senior Process Engineer, you create chemistry by... Demonstrating your passion and commitment to a Zero Incident Mindset, you will address EHS requirements at BASF and other sites outside the company for direct project support maintaining BASF standards and established Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures. Leveraging your educational background in Chemical Engineering (or related), you will develop and execute a wide variety of lab processing, experimentation, and analytics to expand the current level of process and product technology. Using your technical ability and problem solving ability, you will develop new testing procedures as required for product and process improvement. Your attention to detail and strong communication skills will ensure proper documentation and reporting of results of the work completed. Results will be communicated at Project Meetings and Quarterly Updates. Leveraging your previous relevant experience in running plant-scale trials, you will plan and lead manufacturing trials at the three CCR sites, and document work for all phases of trials as needed to coordinate efforts of the project team Using your knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and your process troubleshooting experience, you will identify quality and productivity improvements and communicate findings, ideas and act as a champion for change implementation. As a trusted resource for technical/problem-solving expertise, you will successfully assure the effectiveness and accuracy of operating procedures, and develop and implement Management of Change (MoC) protocols.

Requirements

  • Have a BS in Chemical Engineering with +5 years of experience.
  • Have experience including process troubleshooting and optimization as well as running plant-scale trials.
  • Have unit operation and process evaluation/testing experience in a plant environment.
  • Hold a strong technical background and familiarity with experimental design.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Have a track record of working in a team environment.
  • Hold a strong technical/problem solving aptitude and be data driven.
  • Possess initiative, a drive for results, and can solve complex problems by identifying and enrolling appropriate resources and can use individual creativity & innovation rapidly.
  • Have general computer skills related to e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and process control systems.
  • Maintain a good attendance record and report to assigned job station in a timely manner.
  • Have an understanding of and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and other ISO regulations, procedures and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.
