Senior Process Engineer

FujifilmBothell, WA
115d$97,000 - $135,000

About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Process Engineer dedicated to developing and optimizing transducer manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with advanced subtractive manufacturing techniques, and a deep understanding of materials science—including metals, alloys, ceramics, composites, and adhesives. This role involves direct involvement in the preparation and processing of transducer acoustic stacks and arrays, as well as the development of new techniques to enable cutting-edge acoustic designs. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in improving product quality, increasing manufacturing efficiency, and expanding production capabilities through process troubleshooting and the adoption of innovative technologies. Working collaboratively with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams, the Senior Process Engineer will drive continuous improvement using quality system tools and data-driven analysis, ensuring robust process documentation, traceability, and compliance with stringent manufacturing standards. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, an excellent communicator, and thrive in a dynamic environment that values technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and proactive innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field that combines process and mechanical engineering expertise.
  • 4-6 years' experience in process development and device manufacturing, preferably in medical devices with high documentation and traceability demands.
  • Practical experience with manufacturing processes and equipment, particularly precision machining and subtractive manufacturing (e.g., dicing saws, CNC milling, cutting, drilling).
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, tooling, and materials properties (metals, alloys, ceramics, composites), including their interaction with manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with precision assembly techniques; familiarity with piezo-ceramic and advanced polymers is a plus.
  • Exposure to additional processes and equipment is beneficial: metallization, soldering, PCBA fabrication, epoxy curing.
  • Proficiency in data collection and statistical analysis for process improvements using software such as JMP, Minitab, or similar.
  • Background or experience in transducer and medical ultrasound physics is desirable.
