About The Position

The Snr Process Engineer will provide technical process engineering support and process monitoring to day-to-day dairy process manufacturing operations. The position requires strong technical process experience related to both dairy manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering preferred, other engineering degrees considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing and engineering role.
  • Experience in waste water and water treatment equipment.
  • Working knowledge of project life cycle deliverables, contract & schedule.
  • May be required to work in a site environment in the presence of heavy equipment, smoke, dust and noise.
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Project, SEEQ, CAPE or TOPS, and AutoCAD.
  • Pro-activity, personal drive, decisiveness, commercial / business acumen, communication skills, excellent teamwork skills, organizational competency, and the ability to prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for water and wastewater, in support of operations, maintenance and automation.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of water treatment systems, including filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), UV disinfection, and storage.
  • Manage and improve on-site wastewater treatment processes (e.g., SAF systems, m, pH neutralization) to ensure compliance with environmental discharge permits.
  • Ensure all water and wastewater systems comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Prepare and submit required environmental and regulatory reports.
  • Available to support Ops in day to day troubleshooting as needed.
  • Responsible to track/trend/report out all defined Process Performance Metrics (PPMs) and reporting.
  • Leverage Product Excellence PPM monitoring & trending to identify potential process & equipment improvements.
  • Analyze data to identify process inefficiencies or compliance risks. Develop action plans to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with production teams to monitor and control effluent characteristics (BOD, COD, TSS, pH, etc.) to minimize surcharges and avoid non-compliance.
  • Provide weekend on-call support to the maintenance and operations team to reduce downtime, within areas of responsibility.
  • Work with maintenance teams to develop preventive maintenance schedules and reliability strategies for pumps, tanks, sensors, blowers, and other equipment in water/wastewater systems.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, P&IDs, process documentation, and training materials related to water and wastewater systems.
  • Participate in the development of emergency procedures for spills, system failures, or environmental incidents. Train relevant personnel on response protocols.
  • Provide input on design for capital projects concurrently.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel required to equipment vendors and other Chobani sites.
