About The Position

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Process Architect to join its Life Sciences business. This opportunity can be supported through our Plymouth Meeting PA office or Raleigh NC office, Greenville SC, or as a remote employee. Wood is currently seeking a Senior Process Architect to join our Life Sciences (Biotechnology / Pharmaceuticals) team to develop life-changing and in many cases, life-saving solutions for our clients. This position will be responsible for collaborating with our Global Life Science teams in both Melbourne, Australia and Milan, Italy. While assisting in the development of the Life Sciences business in North America, this candidate will coordinate with our Process Engineering department to provide sound design solutions for our clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture (5-year program) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) from an accredited NAAB university
  • Architectural licensure and NCARB certification are required
  • More than 15 years of applicable experience in facility design and planning
  • Industry expert in Process Architecture with proven track record of success
  • Expert knowledge of building codes, construction processes and specification writing
  • Expert knowledge of cGMPs and regulatory requirements is required including Annex 1 implementation strategies
  • Working knowledge of the following software packages (Revit, Navisworks, Microsoft office & Sketchup)
  • Flexibility to travel (~10%) is required

Responsibilities

  • Provides Process Architecture expertise to the Wood Life Science Line of Business
  • Provides Process Architecture technical support to the Wood Architectural and Engineering teams
  • Provides planning, programming, feasibility and concept design expertise to our clients
  • Actively participates in industry forums and trade shows
  • Supports the sales team with proposals and client presentations
  • Cultivates and develops client relationships
  • Coordinates with our Process Engineering department to provide sound design solutions for our clients
  • Coordinates with our global Life Science offices
  • Mentors the architectural design team
  • Supports, guides, and directs the architectural team through all phases of design: initial programming, planning, feasibility & concept development, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction documentation
  • Coordinates and collaborates on architectural deliverables with Global Life Science offices
  • May serve as the Architect of Record on key projects
  • Helps to establish a culture of technical excellence through role modelling and communicating expectations
  • Stays up to date with industry trends and best practices
