About The Position

As a Thermal Architect, you'll be responsible for the development of compute and storage nodes supporting the Enterprise, AI, HPC, Telco and Cloud markets. You'll work with our global thermal, electrical and mechanical engineering community on cutting edge electronic cooling solutions. Our team conducts the analysis, feasibility studies and testing of thermal products, instruments, subassemblies and packaging for new and existing products - and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations. Requirements

  • 12+ years in a thermal engineering role to include experience with server cooling systems or equivalent skill
  • Expertise in internal fluid dynamics and heat transfer
  • Experience with analytical, numerical and experimental techniques for thermal system development
  • Skilled at analyzing options and selecting critical design elements for product development
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with and influence global teams

Nice To Haves

  • Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor's degree; or 8+ years with a Master's degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
  • BS, MS or PhD in mechanical engineering or related field

Responsibilities

  • Develop thermal architecture and concepts for new innovative air and liquid cooling concepts and establish feasibility
  • Establish portfolio cooling strategies and lead junior thermal engineers
  • Create cutting edge cooling innovations through new technology exploration and integration
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering for design tradeoffs in node-level air and liquid cooling solutions
  • Ensure designs are manufacturable and highly reliable
