The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) Department supports Raytheon by providing world class technical expertise and engineering leadership to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems, Sensors, and Effectors. The LWMDS department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support Raytheon's Land and Air Defense Systems (L&ADS) business area from our McKinney, TX location. LWMDS Department Systems Engineers solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS), System, Subsystem, and Component levels. Key technical domains include: Architecture, Requirements, Interface Definition, Modeling & Simulation, Radar Systems, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, and Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers. This is an Onsite role in McKinney, TX.

  • Perform Systems Engineering activities on one or more of our many programs.
  • Support programs which may include: Multi-Function Radio Frequency System (MFRFS), Patriot, Air and Missile Defense Capability (AMDC), Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS), Radar Development Contract (RDC), Standard Missile, and other sensor or effector programs.
  • Develop requirements, systems architecture and design, updating and maintaining Interface definitions & description documents and radar systems engineering.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders such as customers and engineers from inside and outside of Raytheon.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with Missile Defense Systems or other related systems engineering experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Advanced STEM degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace engineering.
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
  • Experience with system and sub-system level requirements development, design and documentation of system level software architecture.
  • Experience with system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms.
  • Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and evaluation tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance.
  • Experience working with MATLAB (including object-oriented programming), Python, C/C++, Java or DOORS.
  • Modeling & Simulation development experience and data analysis.
  • Experience with the software development process using Agile Methodologies and tooling, including JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience demonstrating your communication, technical writing, oral presentation and interpersonal skills with customers and leading technical solutions to complex user needs.
