About The Position

Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting the LTAMDS and GhostEye Radars. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept to deployment. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
  • Experience with model-based engineering.
  • Experience in developing and managing requirements.
  • Experience developing both scripts and functions with MATLAB.
  • Experience with C++, Python, or similar
  • Experience with generating technical documentation, such as test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification.
  • Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop requirements and algorithms, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces.
  • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments.
  • Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
  • Develop and execute models to predict system performance and support verification and validation.
  • Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
  • Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
  • Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers.
  • Travel as needed (up to 20%) to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
