The Precision Fire & Maneuver Systems Engineering organization is searching for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, DeepStrike Launcher, Communications, Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) to lead the development of the communication system for the DeepStrike Launcher program. The DeepStrike Launcher program is an advanced U.S. Army initiative focused on developing a highly mobile, modular, and autonomous launch platform capable of supporting a variety of long-range precision fires across multiple domains. The program seeks to develop a resilient and robust communication architecture that ensures continuous command and control of autonomous launchers and resupply vehicles in contested and complex environments. This includes the selection and integration of directional line-of-sight (LOS) communication systems to support high-bandwidth, low-latency data exchange during active operations, coupled with redundant non-line-of-sight (NLOS) systems such as UHF radios and/or satellite communications (SATCOM) to maintain connectivity when LOS links are degraded or unavailable. These communication systems must support dynamic mission planning, health monitoring, and coordinated actions across autonomous assets. This IPT Lead role will lead the development of the communication system including evaluating, selecting, and integrating the communication systems into the DeepStrike Launcher architecture. As an IPT Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical execution and successful delivery of a complex product from concept through fielding. You will lead a cross-functional team of engineering disciplines, ensuring alignment with program objectives, technical requirements, cost, and schedule constraints. Acting as the primary technical interface between engineering, program management, suppliers, and customers, you will drive design decisions, manage risk, and coordinate the integration and verification of the product. In addition, the IPT Lead guides the overall system requirements and architecture design decisions, utilizing the expertise of design teams to inform those decisions, and ensures design compliance and system performance. Your leadership will be essential in fostering collaboration, resolving technical challenges, and delivering a high-quality, mission-ready solution that meets all performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.

  • Plan, manage, and report on budget and schedule performance, including responsibility for Earned Value Management (EVM), alignment with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and coordination with program planning and finance teams.
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams ensuring technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met, while driving collaboration and alignment across all technical sub-teams.
  • Shape the system architecture and design strategy, using inputs from engineering disciplines to make informed decisions that ensure design compliance, performance, and alignment with customer mission needs.
  • Interact with Raytheon program leadership, the Office of the Chief Engineer, and other integrated product teams (IPTs) to coordinate your team's technical execution.
  • Interface with Raytheon leadership to report program status, accomplishments, challenges, and resource needs.
  • Engage directly with customers, suppliers, and functions across the Enterprise including Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, and Global Supply Chain.
  • Provide mentoring and support to engineering team members, and engagement of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) where needed to resolve complex issues.
  • Apply deep experience in system-level design, integration, verification, leading technical reviews, and managing risk.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum seven (7) years experience.
  • Experience managing or leading cross-disciplined teams in a technical capacity.
  • Experience in the integration and test of missiles or missile launchers in one or more of the following: leading and conducting trade studies; developing architectures; system development and design; requirements development and management.
  • Experience using one or more of the following program management tools to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management: Earned Value Management System (EVMS); Cost Account Management (CAM) certification; Integrated Master Plan (IMP); Integrated Master Schedule (IMS); Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance.
