About The Position

Byte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, is seeking a Software Engineer to join our diverse team at our Herndon, VA, office. The candidate will work within a cross-functional Agile Scrum Team primarily focusing on building and maintaining systems running in a containerized environment.

Requirements

• Significant Java and Python development experience.
• Experience with SQL
• Shell Script experience
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux
• TS/SCI with Poly.
• For Senior Principal level: A Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience; OR a PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.
• For Staff level: A Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; OR a PhD with 9+ years of relevant experience an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Security+ or equivalent certification and willingness to serve as a Security+ privileged user supporting deployed systems testing
• Experience with Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift or another variant)
• Familiarity with NiFi
• Experience with cross-domain systems
• Experience with JavaScript.
