Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist in Bioinformatics to join the Immune Pathway Discovery (IPD) team, part of the Immunology Therapeutic Area. This role is pivotal in analyzing high-dimensional molecular omics data to identify new therapeutic targets, build disease rationales, predict safe and effective combination regimens, and develop patient stratification approaches. The IPD team collaborates closely with biologists to formulate research questions, interpret results, and apply insights to influence the strategic direction of various discovery projects, from initial ideas through preclinical testing and into clinical trials. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading traditional analysis projects and strategic initiatives, potentially managing people within a matrixed environment. A strong technical background in bioinformatics is essential, along with a proven track record of leveraging bioinformatics to drive significant business impact. The interdisciplinary nature of this role requires outstanding technical, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as experience in leading projects across various disciplines. Key responsibilities include building and executing technical and strategic plans to achieve long-term objectives across multiple programs, impacting discovery strategy through technical expertise, mentoring junior scientists, and effectively communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences. The candidate will also leverage a strong scientific network to enhance portfolio impact, establishing themselves as a subject-matter expert within the therapeutic area.
