We are looking for you to join our team as a Senior Principal Reliability Systems Engineer to join our Airborne Multifunction Systems (AMS) organization. This position is based out of Linthicum, MD and will be 100% on-site.

  • Define and implement reliability engineering programs to achieve Customer (both internal and external) and program reliability objectives.
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design for development, production, and sustainment phases.
  • Support requirement allocations and flow down to lower assembly levels.
  • Develop reliability analyses (e.g., reliability predictions and complex system modeling, FMECAs, de-rating, RBD development, Fault Tree).
  • Define and implement reliability FRACAS (failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system) programs to prioritize opportunities for affordability improvements.
  • Chair/organize Failure Review Boards (FRBs), completing data mining, identifying trends, prioritizing failure modes, investigating, and ensuring effective corrective action closure.
  • Provide feedback into root cause and correct analysis (RCCA) initiatives.
  • Develop plans and lead reliability growth programs (including reliability growth analysis, scoring conference support, etc.).
  • Support subcontractor evaluation, selection, and coordinate activities with respect to reliability needs.
  • Prepare, present and participate in design reviews.
  • Effectively engage with external customers and internal stakeholders to generate high quality work products on-schedule and on-budget.
  • Identify continuous improvement efforts as reliability engineering tasks are performed.
  • Support program Engineering Configuration Change Board (CCB) and Corrective Action Board.
  • Interpret Engineering drawings/schematics.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 4 year of experience in Physics or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • A final DoD Secret Clearance.
  • 5 years of experience collaborating across functional teams, including systems engineers, design engineers, component engineers, mission assurance, manufacturing, test, and program management, resulting in successful project outcomes.
  • 5 years of experience performing reliability predictions utilizing standards such as Mil-Hdbk-217, VITA 51.1, physics of failure (PoF), field evaluations, etc.
  • 5 years of experience performing analysis including FMECA, FTA, complex system modeling (Monte Carlo for example), derating/stress analysis, etc.
  • 5 years of experience planning, conducting and managing Reliability programs, including reliability testing.
  • 5 years of experience utilizing Windchill Quality Solutions and Reliasoft reliability analysis tools.
  • 5 years of experience implementing subcontractor control and requirement flow down.
  • 5 years of experience contributing to and/or making technical presentations to internal and external customers, and developing and submitting technical artifacts.
  • Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.
  • A current / active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Demonstrated understanding of maintainability, testability, and logistic support practices, ensuring alignment with system safety and human factors design principles as they relate to Reliability.
  • Familiarity with design and manufacturing processes that involve both design and production phases.
  • Experience with identifying and mitigating reliability risks.
  • Experience with proposal development and contract negotiations.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
