Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Senior Principal Facilities Project Management (Level 4) to join our team! This position will be located on site in Iuka, Mississippi. The Senior Principal Facilities Project Management (Level 4) will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and site management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

  • Oversee and manage the facilities projects, construction activities and serve as liaison between leadership, program, and other customers.
  • Act as primary contact for facilities between customers and maintenance for equipment and machinery project activities.
  • Gather, review, and finalize requirements data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
  • Plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
  • Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
  • Prepare Scopes of Work and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction services.
  • Review and estimate costs, including design, equipment, installation, labor, materials, construction, and other related costs.
  • Inspect or direct the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Manage and execute multiple facilities projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forecast and report on project status, including key project metrics for Risk, Cost, Schedule and Scope.
  • Produce and implement risk mitigation and schedule recovery plans as required.
  • Identify any task that will require special inspection and coordinate with customers, and contractors.
  • A minimum of high school diploma or GED and 11 years of combined project management, facilities construction project management, or facilities management experience OR with Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience OR Master’s Degree and 6 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of construction related disciplines.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly to present technical approaches and findings.
  • Work with subject matter experts, suppliers, etc. (as required) to troubleshoot and solve issues related to mechanical system, machines and or material assemblies quickly and efficiently.
  • Prior work experience in facility layout, engineering, electrical, mechanical, HVAC design, plumbing, hydraulics, dynamics, and/or control systems and project management.
  • Must be able to independently manage multiple projects.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOD Secret Clearance.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Understanding of the change management process.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Professional writing skills and the ability to communicate with various levels of leadership to include presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS project, Microsoft Office software applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with the design and construction of cleanrooms, design and construction of classified facilities, fire and security alarms and systems and remote monitoring, energy management systems, electrical systems and high-voltage electricity/substations and reliability engineering.
  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA, local, UFC Criteria, FED OSHA, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility.
