About The Position

The Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer - Rotor Core will be located within the Rotor Core Value Stream (RCVS) for Pratt & Whitney, reporting directly to the OpX Director. The Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer - Rotor Core will be responsible for RCVS new process introduction initiatives, producibility assessments, supplier on-boarding and qualification, optimization of existing manufacturing processes, and strategic risk management and mitigation projects. The Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer - Rotor Core will also directly engage with the site level ME leaders to align activities between sites and across the value stream, and support integration of key operations modernization projects. Collaborate with other RCVS groups and P&W functional support groups. Leadership of RCVS new process introduction and process standardization activities Integration of new/updated engineering requirements and specifications Implementation of RTX operations modernization projects, such as live material tracking initiatives, including integrated supply base Implementation of new technologies to support RCVS factory transformation Identification and execution of roadmap activities for PW capacity expansion and supplier sites Accountability for risk management assessments for value stream, and mitigation road mapping Support site-level ME events to ensure RCVS initiatives are aligned to site needs and prioritized to support the business Support strategic direction of the overall business by developing the relevant project plans, resourcing requirements, and tasks Prioritize tasks and activities to optimize customer satisfaction and business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 10 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, project management, quality or related industrial environment, or a Master's degree and 7 or more years' experience in a similar field.
  • Experience with NPI processes, preferably in forge or other hot component processing.
  • Experience with gated review processes for process introduction.
  • Experience working within environments of rapid growth and dynamic change.
  • Experience identifying technological solutions to resolve business challenges.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
