As a Senior/Principal Machine Learning Engineer on the Content Safety team, you will be a hands on technical leader responsible for developing cutting edge systems that safeguard the Roblox experience across a diverse set of content types including 3D environments, code, and images. You’ll operate at the scale of billions of engagement hours and address some of the most challenging issues in online safety today.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying large-scale machine learning systems in production environments.
• A proven ability to develop robust, scalable solutions for complex, ambiguous safety challenges.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working across modalities such as text, images, or 3D data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end to end machine learning systems to detect and remediate problematic or abusive content on Roblox in real time.
• Innovate on detection strategies in a rapidly evolving landscape, using data-driven approaches to creatively and strategically identify emerging threats.
• Shape the team’s technical vision by helping define the roadmap, establishing foundational architecture, and driving key execution milestones.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, setting strong technical standards and fostering a culture of collaboration and learning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Moderation Operations, Product Management, Data Science, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful, community-focused solutions.
• Set technical strategy and oversee development of high scale, high throughput and reliable infrastructure systems for large-scale, real-time inference, especially as we scale up both inference qps and model size.
• Dig into performance bottlenecks all along the inference stack, spanning from model optimizations to infrastructure optimizations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends in machine learning and infrastructure to ensure the adoption of leading-edge technologies and practices.
