About The Position

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principal Industrial Water Market Lead to help grow our water and wastewater engineering practices out of our St. Louis, MO office. This is a unique opportunity to work with and learn from leading experts with numerous business and professional contacts who are currently developing new process engineering opportunities. The position will also support business growth associated with complex industrial wastewater projects across the country, including positioning for and expanding capabilities for delivering full-service projects. This position is well-suited for a talented, experienced individual who is interested in leading innovative and challenging wastewater projects, including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental, preferred).
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E.).
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience in the consulting industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial and municipal clients with water supply, water treatment, and water reuse projects.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients and growing a practice that sustains a group of professional junior staff.
  • Excellent leadership and detail orientation skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills.
  • Valid U.S driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
  • Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic business planning to segment and target specific industrial, commercial and municipal clients for projects such as water supply, water treatment, and water re-use.
  • Engagement with project and operations staff to align Geosyntec’s full service delivery capabilities with market demands.
  • Participation in inter-departmental and inter-branch initiatives that have a positive impact on the greater company such as practice group involvement, client management leadership, market sector development, and providing business development or technical leadership to multiple offices or practice groups.
  • Implementation of a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue with new and existing clients, in coordination with companywide business development plans.
  • Project directorship, including ensuring client expectations are understood and met, budgets are adhered to, quality objectives are met, and follow-on work is attained.
  • Recruiting, managing, and mentoring junior staff and mid-career engineers and scientists.
  • Reviewing and leading the preparation of major proposals.
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
  • Sporadic fieldwork including contractor oversight and process troubleshooting tasks.
  • Training and professional development opportunities including technical conferences, in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring.
