As such, we in the Advanced Product Solutions department provide the United States Government and International Partners with remote sensing systems, for time critical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations. Our ISR Information and Intelligence Engineering group develops algorithms and software for processing, optimizing, and creating intelligence products from these sensors. We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in aspects of the development lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle that includes design, prototype, manufacture, integration, test, and transition to production. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including engineering, program management, supply chain, and manufacturing. Successful candidates must adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, work under own initiative with minimal supervision/guidance, be calm under pressure, and responsive to change with a logical approach to technical problem resolution and decision making. Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree and 10+ years of prior work experience in a related field.
  • Experience in any of the following: architecture, design, modeling & simulation, and/or testing of electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) imaging systems.
  • Experience with optics and/or focal plane requirements, design, verification, test, and production.
  • Proficient in requirements development and management, system design and integration, test plan and procedure development, verification and test, and data analysis.
  • An active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Post Graduate degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and EO/IR sensor modeling and simulation using tools such as Matlab and Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Technical leadership on projects, including development of cost and schedule estimates, risk management, and supplier technical management.
  • Experience leading engineering development projects, including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for the development of airborne EO/IR sensor systems from architecture development through requirements verification and qualification.
  • Transform customer needs into system level requirements, and work with all engineering functions to decompose and allocate system-level requirements to sub-systems and components with full traceability.
  • Develop and refine CONOPS and System Architecture using Model-Based Systems Engineering methods.
  • Execute modeling and simulation of system-level performance under operational conditions.
  • Develop and execute integration, system, and flight test plans.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including program office, other engineering disciplines, customers, and suppliers.
  • Develop products and implement design changes in accordance with engineering processes.
  • Perform Control Account Management duties for scope, cost, and schedule.
