At Anthesis Group, we are truly committed to putting people and our planet at the heart of all we do. Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities We are seeking a Water Stewardship expert at the Principal Consultant or Senior Consultant level to meet growing demand from North American and global clients for solutions addressing shared water challenges. The successful candidate will have an outstanding track record helping companies develop effective water stewardship strategies, measure and manage water-related risks and opportunities, transparently report progress, and recommend solutions for improved operational and supply chain water management and watershed restoration. As a key subject matter expert expanding our Nature service, you will support clients across industries in developing context-based and science-based freshwater targets, promoting adoption of stewardship tools and technologies, and measuring impacts on critical watershed concerns including water quantity, water quality, and access to clean water and sanitation. Our ideal candidate possesses a robust understanding of water inventories and risk assessments, ESG reporting for water, and developing water stewardship strategies across corporate value chains. You will demonstrate proven experience tackling sector-specific water challenges; assessing water-related risks and opportunities across industries; developing roadmaps to improve operational water management and supplier engagement; conducting financial assessments to quantify the true cost of water; and identifying opportunities to restore watershed health and measure progress. Essential qualifications include knowledge of emerging regulatory developments, understanding of leading water stewardship frameworks and water benefit accounting methodologies, and demonstrated project management experience. The Water Stewardship Consultant will collaborate with colleagues across Anthesis's global and North American practices—including Climate, ESG Strategy and Reporting, and Circularity & Value Chain Transformation—to deliver expertise on holistic nature-positive solutions. You will help clients understand their interrelated risks, dependencies, impacts, and opportunities across water, biodiversity, climate, and communities across priority tiers and regions of their value chains. Your work will span diverse industries, from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands, requiring engagement with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders (employees, investors, associations, and NGOs) worldwide. The focus centers on building foundational water stewardship strategies that address shared challenges and advance positive environmental outcomes.
