About The Position

Omega Technical Services is seeking a Senior / Principal Architect to support ongoing design and construction-phase activities within the Engineering Directorate supporting MSTS programs. This role will provide architectural leadership across active projects, ensuring design integrity, constructability, and compliance throughout the full project lifecycle—from concept through turnover to operations. The selected candidate will play a critical role in resolving design conflicts, supporting configuration management, and ensuring requirements traceability across major projects such as UCEP and ZEUS. Salary Range: Senior Architect: $150,000 – $175,000 Principal Architect: $180,000 – $205,000

Requirements

  • Senior Architect: Minimum 10 years of relevant architectural design and field experience
  • Principal Architect: Minimum 15 years of relevant architectural design and field experience
  • Working knowledge of Federal (including DOE Orders), State, and Local codes and standards
  • Experience supporting design projects through construction phase in complex or regulated environments
  • Strong background in configuration management and requirements traceability
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders
  • Proficiency with MicroStation or similar CAD tools
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain clearance
  • Professional Registration required (Registered Architect)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DOE/NNSA, nuclear, or highly regulated facilities
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure or mission-critical projects (e.g., UCEP, ZEUS-type programs)
  • Familiarity with startup, commissioning, and turnover processes
  • NCARB certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural design support during construction phase, ensuring deconfliction of design and field issues
  • Develop and maintain design documentation and configuration management products
  • Perform field verification and discovery of existing conditions as required
  • Ensure requirements traceability and transparency across design, procurement, construction, startup, and turnover
  • Plan and coordinate work requiring independent judgment and advanced architectural expertise
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in resolving architectural, code, regulatory, and safety issues
  • Conduct construction document reviews and support design validation efforts
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, MSTS leadership, and customers
  • Support task estimates, studies, and technical analyses
  • Mentor junior staff and provide training and consultation as needed
