Role: Senior Pricing Strategist, Electronics Manufacturing Department: Quotation Location: Newark, CA Reports to: Quotation Manager Is this you? Do you instinctively deconstruct a BOM and spot gaps in Gerbers, drawings, or specs? Can you turn complex RFQs into precise, defensible quotes—fast? Do you enjoy partnering with PM/Sales to win deals while maintaining margin discipline?

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of cost estimating/quoting in electronic components and PCB assembly.
  • Experience within an EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) environment.
  • Foundational analytical and financial skills.
  • MS Office proficiency with advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).

Responsibilities

  • RFQ Assurance : Review customer instructions, specifications, drawings, and technical data; verify BOMs, Gerber files, and product drawings; register RFQ numbers; map customer needs to our quoting framework; prepare and coordinate RFQs for PCBA, Box Build, Test, and Repair/Rework.
  • Cost Architecture : Classify BOM component categories; identify special process requirements and collaborate with Engineering/Management; generate process and labor costs using the labor template; calculate process/test NRE via the labor template macro file and apply appropriate markups; finalize material cost including attrition, scrap, and MMU%; consolidate the final quote for review/approval; and assess quotation content quality alongside cost accuracy.
  • Executive Readiness : Build briefing packages for leadership; submit quotes for approval; work with Program Managers and Sales; support customer reviews and issue resolution.
  • Operational Rigor : Maintain and improve the quotation labor cost template to enhance estimation accuracy; detect calculation errors, high‑cost processes, and new customer labor rates; deliver weekly and quarterly win/loss/pending analysis reports; communicate RFQ status to PM/Sales; engage in cost proposal negotiations; prioritize RFQs to meet deadlines.
