About The Position

As a Senior Pre-Surgical Technician at Panorama Eyecare, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to deliver the best eyecare. Senior Pre-Operative Technicians are expected to demonstrate full proficiency in all Core Pre-Surgical Technician responsibilities. In addition to these foundational duties, this position requires the ability to interpret and apply diagnostic data to support the provider in making informed Refractive Surgery decisions. The goal is to ensure that the ophthalmic patient, provider, and surgical team experience a streamlined, accurate, and positive encounter that aligns with the mission and standards of care at Panorama Eyecare.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to get BLS (Basic Life Support) certified within 3 months of employment.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office and in electronic health record is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of ophthalmic testing required (including but not limited to Biometry, Keratometry, Topography). Successful completion of competency assessment is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in basic clinical math, with the ability to accurately analyze numerical data and apply it to clinical workflows, such as cataract lens calculations.
  • COA preferred.
  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to raise hands and arms to shoulder level without restriction, pain, or discomfort.
  • Ability to perform extended use of phones and computer terminals, as well as diagnostic equipment without pain or discomfort.

  • This role would be great for CNA, MA, etc. (Preferred, but Not Required)

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and accurately performs and necessary Ophthalmic Testing (including but not limited to Biometry, Keratometry, Topography) needed for cataract surgery calculations
  • Demonstrate competency in answering patient questions regarding intraocular lens implants, surgical procedures, and post-operative medications.
  • Utilizes diagnostic testing results to guide patient-centered, realistic IOL discussions that support understanding and surgical decision-making.
  • Complete surgical charts and perform all necessary calculations, ensuring they are ready for final lens selection by the provider.
  • Partners with leadership and peers to deliver comprehensive training to new team members, supporting a smooth transition into their roles.
