Job Profile Summary The Senior Practice Leader manages and provides operational leadership to complex multi-site/multi-specialty service lines within the MarinHealth Medical Network Ambulatory Clinics ensuring they meet the MarinHealth enterprise-wide goals and initiatives of safety, affordability, quality, satisfaction, and access. This position functions, in collaboration with the physician dyad or appropriate leadership, to ensure operational management and coordination of the overall clinical services and programs of assigned staff at designated site(s) to ensure appropriate systems, policies and procedures are in place to drive superior patient experience, quality clinical outcomes, employee and physician satisfaction, and excellent financial performance. Collaborate with physicians and leadership to develop and implement the practice business plans, measure performance, and develop and implement improvements. Ensures proper policy and procedures are adhered to, guaranteeing compliance with the clinic, affiliates, vendors, the MarinHealth enterprise, and state and federal regulatory agencies where applicable. Takes a strategic and tactical approach to identifying best practices, standardizing workflows, and proposing plans of action to implement changes. Implements and manages capital and operational budgets to achieve financial targets through the effective use of personnel, resources, and supplies. Quality oversight for proper and accurate documentation of the services being provided. Serves as an expert resource for clinical and non-clinical staff regarding revenue cycle for completion of claims and bill accuracy. Develops and maintains a solid partnership with internal and external peers, leaders, and/or regulatory agencies to facilitate and collaborate on initiatives or solve issues. Provides guidance and/or direct intervention in resolving challenging or complex situations with an empathetic and solution-based approach. Accountable for role modeling principles defined by the C.A.R.E.S Standards, clinic or enterprise-wide initiatives, and the MarinHealth Mission, “To provide exceptional healthcare services in a compassionate and healing environment”.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of operations in complex multi-site/multi-specialty ambulatory settings and how the department’s process/workflow impacts other area’s operation throughout the Health System and within the Network.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all applicable state, federal, state licensing and other local regulations as they relate to ambulatory settings is required.
  • Ability to form relationships with physicians and medical directors, as well as, other key stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills, including team building, and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.
  • In-depth understanding of operations and clinical workflows. Including cross functional clinical episodes within the acute setting.
  • Demonstrates tactical and analytical thinking and planning skills, and is able to develop plan to accomplish objectives, identify obstacles and resolve operational issues.
  • Ability to build and establish effective working partnership achieve business objectives.
  • Verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to handle difficult circumstances and make sound business decisions with little direction.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.

  • Knowledge of wage and hour laws.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Management, Business Administration or related field is required.
  • 5 years or more of supervisory and/or management experience in a complex and/or multi-site/multi-specialty healthcare setting, including but not limited to, budgets, fiscal management, and revenue cycle.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge / experience with electronic medical records or practice management systems.
  • Use of EPIC/APeX software a plus.
  • Masters preferred.
  • A combination of experience and education may be considered.
