About The Position

This position involves direct engagement with internal teams and external partners to develop protection and control solutions, ranging from standard offerings to custom creations. As an early user of proprietary control platforms, the engineer's feedback will be crucial for refining functionality and guiding development. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative high-tech products, support electric utilities with real-world protection and control issues, and expand expertise in technologies vital to the power grid’s digital transformation. Responsibilities include applying standard and graphical programming techniques to solve power system protection and control challenges, and supporting product development and testing to ensure system functionality. Additionally, the engineer will share knowledge through training, collaborate on projects of varying complexity, and use state-of-the-art tools and testing equipment to simulate, test, and confirm protection and control functions. Contributions will also extend to developing solutions that meet industry standards and participating in their creation. Success in this role requires collaboration with a global team, an adaptable work style, robust analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication, and the ability to operate independently with strong initiative and self-management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in power systems, protection & control, or logical programming
  • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Franksville, WI will be considered (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Power Systems Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Two or more years of experience in logical programming
  • Experience working with medium voltage power distribution system IEDs, such as protective relays, recloser controls, or other related protection and control devices
  • Knowledge of modern utility automation and protection schemes
  • Experience in power systems protection, coordination, design analysis or relaying
  • Experience in PLC programming, digital logic, combinatorial logic, or use of IEC 61131 programming languages
