About The Position

We are designing the grid of the future! Conduct IBR Dynamic Modeling studies which are particularly related to existing and future NERC reliability standards. This position will have specific emphasis placed on IBR plant dynamic modeling for NERC PRC-029-1 compliance .

Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power systems
• 5 years + of experience as a power systems engineer
• Experience with NERC PRC-024-3, NERC PRC-029-1, NERC MOD-026-1, NERC MOD-027-1, and NERC MOD-026-2
• Experience with performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
• Experience with power systems software such as PSCAD and PSSE
• Experience with automating/programing in Python

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD and PSS E .
• Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit and dynamic.
• Perform various compliance technical assessments on IBR facility rating, protection coordination , ride through assessment.
• Process, generate and maintain data as for other engineering related studies.
• Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
• Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives .
• Identify training needs and present them to the Engineering Manager as needed.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
