You will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and will have an onsite schedule in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 7 years of power electronics experience.
  • Experience in power converter circuit/architecture analysis.
  • Experience in control loop analysis.
  • Proficiency in circuit simulation tools such as PSIM and MATLAB or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for circuit-level design, simulation, and troubleshooting to support power supply and inverter applications.
  • Work on applications ranging from low-voltage, low-power Point of Load supplies to high-power resonant converters.
  • Direct a small team on Power electronics projects.
  • Read and interpret customer specifications and understand how they apply to the electronics.
  • Use thermal design skills to select component packages and design appropriate thermal interfaces.
  • Design circuit for electro-magnetic interference and susceptibility attenuation.
  • Select, analyze, test, and document electronic component suitability for new and existing products.
  • Design, simulate, and prepare schematic design of circuitry for Power Electronics systems.
  • Conduct magnetics design and evaluation (transformers, inductors).
  • Develop prototype tests and test prototype power electronics systems and controls.
  • Provide field support and visit customers as needed.
  • Collaborate with CPES at Virginia Tech to stay updated on technology advancements.
