About The Position
Schneider Electric IT Corporation is seeking a Senior Power Electronics, Design Engineer to lead the design of circuitry for power systems and supplies in Andover, MA. This role involves working on various power conversion technologies including AC to DC, DC to DC, low power bias supplies, power converters, power factor correction, and power feedback control. The engineer will be responsible for simulating circuits to demonstrate expected performance, developing schematics, and collaborating with Mechanical Engineers to ensure that circuit designs fit within the design envelope. Additionally, the engineer will work closely with the System Architect to develop signals and detection methods for circuits, and with Firmware Engineers to test and develop embedded code necessary for system operation. The position requires designing printed circuit board layouts in conjunction with PCB designers to optimize electrical performance and meet compliance expectations. The engineer will also create Worst Case Analysis (WCA) and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) to ensure circuits perform as expected and have appropriate design margins. Bench testing and verification of circuitry using lab equipment is essential, as is the validation of test reports and results from junior engineers and technicians, which will be presented to technical leaders for validation. The engineer will create specifications, test, validate, and approve components used in the design, and perform system integration testing to ensure proper functionality. Troubleshooting and resolving complex circuit issues during the testing process and Design Verification Testing (DVT) is also a key responsibility, along with preparing designs for production in collaboration with Industrialization teams.
