We offer the opportunity to be a part of something different, collaborative, and exciting. We value those who bring fresh ideas, thrive on change, and are comfortable with growth. Position Summary We are looking for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer with a strong background in the design and development of high-performance switching and control systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SCR/thyristor control , digital triggering , and real-time decision-making in AC and DC power paths. This role involves both hardware and firmware development, targeting highly reliable industrial power applications. This is an onsite role —we believe the best ideas happen when we’re together. You’ll be part of a high-energy, collaborative environment where decisions are made fast, and wins are celebrated in real time.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in power electronics design and embedded control.
  • Strong knowledge of thyristor and solid-state switch control , including firing angle modulation.
  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ , real-time firmware development, and control loop implementation.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design , including gate drivers and isolation techniques.
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers and DSPs from TI, Microchip, and STMicroelectronics.
  • Solid understanding of electrical protection mechanisms , grounding, and power safety practices.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture and high-frequency PCB design using Altium Designer, KiCAD, or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of grid-interfaced switching systems , transfer logic, and voltage phase alignment.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and control system architectures.
  • Familiarity with electrical standards such as IEC 61000, UL, or industrial EMC requirements.
  • Strong background in simulation and modeling using MATLAB/Simulink, PSIM, PLECS, or equivalent tools

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced control logic for AC and DC switching systems using SCRs, relays, or solid-state switches.
  • Develop real-time algorithms for fault detection, transfer control, and voltage synchronization .
  • Interface with sensors for voltage and current measurement, and integrate analog front-end circuits for signal acquisition.
  • Program and optimize control firmware on microcontrollers and DSPs (e.g., TI C2000, dsPIC, ARM Cortex-M/R ).
  • Design gate driver circuits and protection features for high-power SCR and IGBT applications.
  • Ensure safe operation through phase detection , zero-crossing timing, and inrush current management.
  • Implement communication protocols including RS-485, CAN FD, UART, and Ethernet (UDP/TCP/IP) .
  • Perform system debugging, timing analysis, and integration testing with scopes, analyzers, and simulation tools.
  • Simulate control loops, power stages, and switching behavior using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, PSIM, or PLECS .
  • Design and review high-frequency schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts with attention to parasitics, grounding, EMI/EMC, and thermal management .
