Senior Power BI Developer
About The Position
The Senior Power BI Developer </b>will support the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) on the SCOR Enterprise Integration (SCOR EI) initiative. This developer is responsible for developing and maintaining updates to SCOR Java applications, including modifications to business logic, user interface enhancements, and the extension of reporting capabilities through Power BI and the system data model. The Senior Power BI Developer supports application enhancements and defect corrections in maintenance mode across multiple environments. This work requires a high degree of creativity and latitude, independently performing complex tasks while potentially leading and directing the work of others.
Requirements
- 8 or more years of experience with Power BI.
- 8 or more years of experience writing SQL for relational databases.
- 8 or more years of experience with RESTful web services on the Spring platform.
- 8 or more years of experience with JUnit and unit test development.
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform a variety of complex and complicated tasks.
- Proven ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others as needed.
Nice To Haves
- 4 or more years of experience with the Angular UI Framework.
- 4 or more years of experience with Crystal Reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
- Implement updates to SCOR Java application business logic and user interface components.
- Extend and enhance reporting capabilities using Power BI and the system data model.
- Investigate problem areas and support defect root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
- Support application enhancements and defect corrections in a maintenance mode environment.
- Conduct coding, testing, and peer reviews across multiple application environments.
- Maintain code coverage, testing standards, and security policies and procedures.
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications and programming standards.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation as required by unit operations.
- Provide on -call support as needed and perform other duties as assigned and required by unit operations.
