About The Position
We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to support the SCOR EI initiative. The candidate will work on enhancing existing applications and extending reporting capabilities using Power BI. The role involves updating Java applications, modifying business logic and UI components, and supporting data modeling and reporting functions. The developer will also assist with application maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and defect resolution across multiple environments while ensuring adherence to coding standards, security policies, and testing practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with Power BI development and reporting.
- 8+ years of experience writing SQL queries for relational databases.
- 8+ years of experience developing RESTful web services using the Spring framework.
- 8+ years of experience with JUnit and unit test development.
- Strong experience with data modeling, report development, and analytics solutions.
- Experience supporting application enhancements, defect resolution, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices and secure coding standards.
Nice To Haves
- 4+ years of experience with Angular UI Framework.
- 4+ years of experience with Crystal Reports.
- Experience working with Texas state agencies or government clients.
- Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports to support enterprise reporting needs.
- Extend and integrate Power BI reporting capabilities with system data models.
- Perform updates to SCOR Java applications, including business logic and UI improvements.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for relational databases.
- Develop and maintain RESTful web services on the Spring platform.
- Perform unit testing using JUnit and maintain code coverage standards.
- Conduct code reviews, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting across multiple environments.
- Perform defect root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with coding standards, security policies, and testing procedures.
- Provide on-call support when required and assist with application maintenance activities.
