The Senior Power Architecture and Optimization Engineer at NVIDIA is responsible for enhancing the energy efficiency of NVIDIA's products through comprehensive power analysis and optimization methodologies. This role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to analyze power data, develop techniques for power reduction, and implement solutions that influence architectural and design improvements for next-generation GPUs and Tegra SOCs.

  • Use internally developed tools and industry standard pre-silicon gate-level and RTL power analysis tools to improve product power efficiency.
  • Develop and share best practices for performing pre-silicon power analysis.
  • Perform comparative power analysis to identify trends and anomalies that require further investigation.
  • Interact with architects and RTL designers to help interpret power data and identify power bugs, driving them to implement fixes.
  • Select and run a variety of workloads for power analysis.
  • Prototype new architectural features in Verilog and analyze power.
  • Automate flows and define new processes to expedite power anomaly detection.
  • Utilize AI to develop power optimization solutions.
  • MS (or equivalent experience) with 3+ years of experience or PhD in related fields.
  • Strong understanding of energy consumption concepts, estimation, data movement, and low power design.
  • Familiarity with Verilog and ASIC design principles, including knowledge of Power Artist and PTPX (Prime Power RTL, RTL Architect).
  • Good verbal/written English and interpersonal skills for collaboration with design teams.
  • Strong coding/automation skills, preferably in Python, Perl, and C+.
