About The Position

The Senior Policy and Program Analyst at Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) will support the Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) by providing technical security guidance and policy interpretation. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to address requests from Foreign Service posts, researching the impact of technology on security practices, and advising agency security managers on effective countermeasures. The analyst will also participate in working groups to develop strategies and procedures that enhance security measures in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and explain Intelligence Community standards and agency regulations.
• Experience interpreting and writing policy.
• Knowledge of the Department of State organizational structure, including Diplomatic Security and geographic bureaus.
• Ability to interact with groups and individuals outside own organization.
• Participation in interagency working groups.
• Strong communication skills in written, electronic, and verbal formats.
• Proficiency in SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate, and track responses to requests from Foreign Service posts for technical security exceptions.
• Research, evaluate, and determine the impact of technology on established security practices.
• Assist in updating technical security policies and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
• Advise top-level agency security managers on the potential impact of technologies on security.
• Recommend new and improved methods for enhancing countermeasures programs.
