The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) is a national, nonpartisan, anti-poverty organization advancing policy solutions that work for people with low incomes and people of color. We advocate for public policies and programs at the federal, state, and local levels that reduce poverty, improve the lives of people with low incomes, and advance racial, gender, and economic justice. Our solutions directly address the barriers that individuals and families face because of race, ethnicity, low income, sex and gender discrimination, immigration status, and involvement with the carceral system. For over more than 50 years we have kept our vision alive through our trusted expertise on policy and strategy; deeply knowledgeable and committed staff; partnerships with directly impacted people and grassroots leaders; and bold, innovative, and inclusive approaches to economic, racial, and gender justice. At this crucial moment for the United States, CLASP is actively defending against unprecedented and relentless assaults on the people and policies at the core of our agenda. We are doing so through a mix of congressional advocacy built on our vision, relationships, and deep knowledge; administrative advocacy to fight against the unabating attacks on programs and policies; generating impactful ideas in collaboration with state officials and advocates to facilitate state-level change; and a powerful vision built with on-the-ground leaders. ABOUT THE IMMIGRATION AND IMMIGRANT FAMILIES TEAM The Immigration and Immigrant Families team works closely with the other policy teams to advance a comprehensive anti-poverty, racial justice agenda on behalf of immigrants with low incomes. The team focuses on defending against harmful anti-immigrant policies and advocating for policies that promote the health and well-being of immigrant children, youth, and families. Our advocacy work is focused on advancing immigration policies that keep families together, promote healthy child development, and strengthen economic security and educational opportunity. CLASP anchors the Children Thrive Action Network (CTAN), whose mission is to defend and support children in immigrant families. CLASP also serves in leadership roles on a range of other immigration coalitions and campaigns. CLASP seeks a Senior Policy Analyst to join our Immigration and Immigrant Families team as we work together on a proactive agenda for immigrant families in the U.S. The Senior Policy Analyst will play a significant role in leading key areas of the team’s advocacy agenda in immigration and intersectional policy issues. This role will serve as the lead on one or more of team’s priority issue areas (including access to public benefits, immigration enforcement, or education policy) and help build and implement a national campaign focused on centering children in the immigration narrative with a goal of shifting public opinion, mitigating the harm of federal policies, and advancing targeted state policy efforts. In this moment of intense immigration policy threats and actions that deeply impact children, families, and communities, we seek a motivated team member to help move this work forward. The position sits on the Immigration and Immigrant Families team and the Senior Policy Analyst will work closely with other policy teams and CTAN members to support immigrant families and the people who serve and advocate on behalf of them. This position is based in the Washington, D.C., office. CLASP is currently working under a hybrid office model, with the expectation that staff will work in-person four days a month.
