The Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer will lead the design and stamping of plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems for data centers. This includes chilled-water distribution, water treatment/makeup systems, stormwater and drainage, and NFPA-compliant fire-suppression systems. The role requires a PE license and the ability to deliver stamped drawing sets for permitting and construction.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with plumbing/fire protection stamping authority.
  • 8–12 years of experience in plumbing/fire protection for mission-critical facilities.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation software.
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 13, NFPA 2001, and local codes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and stamp plumbing and fire protection drawings, including piping schematics, water treatment, and drainage systems.
  • Design and specify fire suppression systems (wet pipe, pre-action, gaseous/clean agent systems).
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, ASPE, and local plumbing codes.
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineers on chilled-water and makeup-water requirements.
  • Mentor plumbing/fire protection engineers and review design packages.
  • Collaborate with contractors and AHJs to address compliance issues.
