About The Position

As a Senior Plumbing Designer at Power Design, you’ll lead the design, coordination, and development of plumbing systems for large-scale design-build and multi-discipline projects. You’ll be responsible for creating high-quality, code-compliant plumbing system designs that balance innovation, functionality, and constructability. Based at our state-of-the-art headquarters in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, this role requires technical excellence and leadership to guide project teams, support the mechanical and electrical disciplines, and deliver results aligned with Power Design’s quality and performance standards.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of plumbing design experience in commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use projects
  • Advanced knowledge of plumbing design principles, system sizing, and applicable building codes
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam; experience with Fieldwire or similar project management software preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with an ability to lead project teams
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities with clients, consultants, and project personnel
  • Demonstrated success mentoring and developing team members
  • Commitment to Power Design’s core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and growth

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with plumbing-specific calculation software and design tools
  • ASPE certification or PE license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the design and documentation of plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural gas, and specialty piping systems
  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior designers and engineers to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and quality of design deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements, including IPC, NFPA, and ASPE guidelines
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, mechanical, and electrical design teams to ensure system integration and design consistency
  • Prepare and review drawings, schematics, specifications, and calculation packages in Revit, AutoCAD, and discipline-specific software
  • Conduct technical reviews and quality control checks throughout design and pre-construction phases
  • Lead system analysis, including sizing, pressure loss, and flow calculations, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Support project estimating efforts by providing accurate system data and cost evaluations
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring schedule adherence and alignment with client expectations
  • Drive innovation and process improvement initiatives across plumbing design workflows
  • Participate in client meetings and provide expert-level technical insights to resolve design or coordination issues
  • Promote Power Design’s safety-first culture, ensuring that designs enhance jobsite safety and efficiency
