About The Position

As a Platform Security Engineer within HP IQ’s Product Security team, you will ensure our infrastructure and services are designed, built, and operated with security at their core. You’ll influence architecture and design decisions, integrate security into engineering workflows, and scale security practices that enable teams to move fast without compromising trust.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a platform security engineer or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of security principles and best practices as they relate to production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and understanding of the relevant Well-Architected Frameworks.
  • Experience securing Kubernetes and containerized workloads
  • Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in at least one modern language (Go, Java, Python, TypeScript).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience securing AI products or edge-connected systems at scale.
  • Experience operating within a product-focused security team
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security tooling.
  • Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST compliance efforts.
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive outcomes across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and scale security controls for cloud, infrastructure, and hardware layers.
  • Perform threat modeling and security architecture reviews to guide product development.
  • Build automated security controls and policy enforcement in CI/CD pipelines and platform tooling.
  • Own the vulnerability management lifecycle, coordinating triage and remediation with cross-functional stakeholders and incorporating lessons learned into security patterns.
  • Define security standards and reference architectures that teams can apply consistently across infrastructure and services.
  • Partner with engineering teams to embed secure-by-default principles into planning, design, and delivery workflows.
  • Implement and maintain technical requirements that support SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and related frameworks.
